I use my site to sell both retail and wholesale, so I have quite a few extra complications to make it work. Additionally, I’m a woodworker selling my craft online so it’s important to me that my online branding match the aesthetics of my woodworking. With Kalium I’m able to control the look and the tone of every part of my site, from home-page to products to product table to portfolio to cart/checkout to basics like account details.

The migration from Kalium 3 to Kalium 4 was difficult for me because I had so many customizations, however all settings were carried over in the migration and with their support I was able to re-apply all the needed code overrides and reduce the number of overrides by replacing them with newly available settings. My updated site is cleaner, faster, more robust, and will be easier to maintain after having made the migration.

Excellent Customer Support: Quick, Professional, and Effective

I had an issue setting up my product, and Laborator’s customer support team was incredibly helpful. Their response was prompt, and they quickly identified the problem and resolve it. Let me tell you a quick story. I bought my first Kalium license 9 years ago. It was the best investment I made in my web designer career. It allowed me to build a large-scale website that opened the door to several other projects. Today I have already developed more than 20 websites. I also need to highlight that the value is not only in the ease of use of the available resources but mainly in the extremely high-quality human support that the Laborator team has always given me. I could go on telling details like the kind year end holiday message that one day appeared discreetly in my dashboard, but I think you already have a good idea of how passionate and committed these guys are to what they do. For these and other reasons, I am forever grateful to the entire Laborator team and motivated for the new projects to come.

I put up a review 2 days ago that was incorrect. I misunderstood Laborator’s policy to reset a Kalium license I forgot to remove before deleting the site last year. I don’t know how to update or remove that review so the best I can do is put in a new one. I thought that they changed their license policy so things were only good for the original domain and could only be updated within 6 months. Beyond that, you have to start over and get a new license. I was wrong. If you have an active support contract for the product, you can contact Laborator Support and they will work with you to get it reset. In terms of their products, they are first rate. We have multiple licenses of Aurum and Kalium. They are our first choice first choice for new WordPress projects. Laborator Themes are well documented, perform great, have excellent support and do not have a bunch of bloat so many themes have. My apologies to Laborator for the previous review.

Great theme with good support and WP Bakery. I tried Elementor, but it’s terrible + the sites made on it look good for a year at most (then they turn into a fuss and/or need to be redesigned). Kalium is a great classic, on which you can do melting too (if you want), but it’s not necessary. I tried other themes for several of my other sites, but returned to Kalium and brought all my acquaintances. Wishes to developers: 1. Update pre-installed templates – make them more modern. It’s 2023. I’m sure you have a lot of ideas + a portfolio of sites made on Kalium, shows what it let to do. 2. Add some already very common functions. For example, native dark mode. All the plugins I’ve tried are terrible. One of the sites “made on Kalium” uses some good dark mode, but it is not clear what it is and where they’ve got it.

The theme has all the features I needed to create my first online portfolio (UX design).

I have received outstanding customer service from Art who has been super helpful and quickly responded to all my questions. Not only did Art help me to resolve issues and answer my questions, but he also took the time to explain how the issue could be resolved so I can fix it myself in the future.

It can be overwhelming to get started and create your first website, but the customer service provided at Kalium greatly reduced my stress levels and made the process so much more enjoyable 🙂

If we talk about the features of Kalium, fast and well-optimized performance, lightweight theme loading speed, Header builder for website( sticky header, top bar and drag or drop header builder), attractive demos and templates, elegant theme, full typography control and woo-commerce integration features are very efficient to setup online kind of stores. Kalium is also very accessible for those who create their blog website. For bloggers who build their portfolios for showcasing images, galleries and creative work Kalium is one of the best options. Another thing about Kalium is its fast and efficient customer support, responsive design, and user-friendly interface make it more attractive than other WordPress websites.

With regard to my Main reason for my five star rating, it is hard to choose between Customer Support and the excellent design of the Bookstore Kalium theme – because both are equally excellent. But ultimately Ylli at Kalium has prevented me from pounding my head into the wall more than I would have otherwise, so Ylli wins that contest. I have only so-so experience with WordPress. I build a site every 2-3 years and feel like I have to relearn it from scratch every time. So even with this well designed theme it took a few days of frustrating diligence before I started to get it. (I highly recommend a clean install – get rid of that old stuff first) But once I began to grasp the theme’s functionality, (with Ylli’s help when I got stuck) it all made sense and I am increasingly happy with this theme’s possibilities. The Bookstore theme is great. I love my new site and it is getting extremely positive response.

THere are a few quirks that you have to think through b/c the WP CMS in my cases overlays a few settings – If you like a lot of script level control, you have to think where would a CMS bury this, and it sorts itself through. Other than that this theme hits every item in the pick list so I chose other. For the cost of the theme, my expectations are surpassed. Too bad I want patient enough to wait for the 33% off timing, oh well. The developers really did awesome here. Thank you!

The theme is very flexible, fast und easy to use. and with all included plugIns the price and license model is very fair.

With the included plugins, the huge numbers of settings which are very logical devided in sections in an own settings area in the WordPress menu and the font manager you can very easy create sites, which are completely fits your CI requirements.

Woocommerce is very good integrated, only the german market plug In made a little design trouble. but furthermore the support team answered very fast even though it was the weekend. so i had a solution for that in shortest time. So i am very happy with that theme.

I have bought several wordpress themes, but this is the best so far as it provides. 1. Automatic theme update 2. bundled plug-ins are updated regularly. 3. Nice design. some themes require to download updates from envato. some themes bundled plugins are out-of-date-don’t-know-when-it’s-going-to-be-updated. It’s not really welcome due to the security reasons. So this one is my main site theme and I highly recommend this theme for anyone just starting a wordpress site or frustrated by the current one you are using.

Kalium is a super flexible and adorable theme. I am using it for my own and for some client websites and love it very much! It’s easy and pure and offers all I need for a good customer experience. The Kalium theme is really attractive and can be personalized to end up to a very nice and pleasant outcome. To help me carry on the settings, I could rely on the support team, who could answer me on a daily basis about my queries and sometime debugging when there was a problem. I can’t say enough good things about Kalium, it’s my new go-to theme when building a new website. It’s set up a in a very clear way, and has all the tools I need to quickly set up a site. I also appreciate the theme’s flexibility to withstand multiple revisions. I love that it includes ACF as bundled plugin, that was honestly a big purchase point for me. I use ACF a lot and it’s nice that it’s already included in the theme. I loved that the theme will allow CSS pre-processors as part of its css editor. Just a lovely addition to a world class theme. I’m really happy with this theme and recommend it highly.

As a photographer looking for a clean front page image driven site that also enables text to be dropped in, the portfolio design of Kalium is hard to beat. The support is also excellent. My site covers a lot of ground so pages need to convey a multitude of information quickly to a first time viewer. What I especially liked was the option of placing text under each of boxes. My knowledge of web design is extremely limited. The most I can do is insert html for links and things like that, and most of my other building knowledge comes from google. That said, this theme is so easy and intuitive to learn. It took me several hours to get the hang of how everything works but once you’ve got it, it’s so easily customizable. So user friendly! It’s crazy how professional my website can look with my limited knowledge of web design and coding. I’m beyond thrilled with this theme and for the price, it can’t be beat!!!

Great theme – I finally found what I wanted aesthetically in a theme. And the customer support is extremely fast and knowledgeable. Definitely worth the money. You have an answer to you problem shortly after you asked. Would highly recommend Laborator – not only are their themes beautiful and what any creative would want – the costumer service is so good it took me by surprise. You are not left in the dark after you buy the theme, which means you can get all the tweaks and customization you want.

This is a beautiful, very solid running and well maintained theme with great support. You can tell the developer is seriously working on this and interested in improving the theme should issues with third party add-ons arise which is unavoidable in the ever changing world of wordpress and even more so if you’re running a bunch of add-ons. Many other devs immediately forward people to (affiliated and) expensive third party professional theme modification companies. And while I’m not saying those third party companies aren’t doing a good job or aren’t worth their pay, I like the hands on approach more. I already purchased several licenses of this theme for this reason alone. And to be honest I’d rather support the theme devs than a third party company. This is to help the theme devs to maintain the theme in the future and help them to continue to provide awesome updates and make their theme even better. 10/10

Everything worked just as advertised and I was thrilled with all of the options available for me to turn my site into exactly the layouts that I wanted. I ran into an issue with some of my images not showing up in the beginning so I contacted their customer support. They were very fast to respond and quickly fixed the problem. I had previously activated Lazy Loading in my Jetpack plugin which interfered with the lazy loading in their theme. They even sent me a video of how to get to the conflicting setting and turn it off so that I knew what was causing the issue and where to look should it happen again in the future. I couldn’t be more thankful and impressed with their service and their wonderful theme. I will definitely buy from them again as this has been a great experience and has given me the freedom to design and run my site just the way that I want it.

It is a quite late review. After viewing thousands of identical themes, I have a few favorites. But Kalium is something different. Almost 3 years have past since I first checked this theme, and it STILL has no match. I’m not sure even Laborator can make a better one. Classy, elegant, and unlike many themes, it is not only beautiful with stock images. Functionality and custom codes and presets are just so good, and their support is amazing. After all these years, still my favorite. This is also the current theme of my portfolio website 🙂 And I will go for another license if I ever need such a premium theme for a customer.

This is such a great theme. I am wondering if you can help. On https://demo.kaliumtheme.com/agency/portfolio/adestra/ I would like it to get a bit smaller and justify hard right to show type I put on the photo. Can this be done? I tried a bunch of things with custom CSS but it didnt really work. The closest I got was this: } @media only screen and (max-width: 680px) { .portfolio-full-bg-slider { float: right !important; position: static; } } But it still doesnt really go all the way right on the small screen, it kind of just slightly changes. Also the size is not good with static, but I don’t really know what else to do. Can you help?

Hi, I can’t register my theme after version 3.0 update. the registration button doesn’t work when I click on it, nothing happens. it works perfectly with the older versions but when I update from the older version I get bunch of errors on top of my pages and things don’t work as they should. I’m not really happy with the way your support works. why should I pay $42 to buy extended support when I can’t even register and use the product? It’s almost like paying to buy the theme all over again. I contacted my hosting company and nothing is wrong on their side. I still give you 5 stars because I want this to work and I’ve been really happy with Kalium. I have 3 licenses and I have the same problem on all of theme.

I have been using Kalium since 2015 but only recently started to really dig into it. What can I say, as a graphic designer I love the quality of the theme. You can opt to go for a very minimal yet aesthetic look or go completely widescreen and still maintain easy color palettes and such. Custom fonts from e.g. Google or Adobe further help you to give your website a distuingishable look. Plus, after five years I now had to write the customer support and I got answers almost immediately. Awesome! I can highly recommend Laborator and this theme!

I’m giving this 5 stars because as WP themes go, this is about as good as it gets – lots of flexibility to achieve what you need in a website. But is the case with all of WordPress, most of it is not intuitive. Expect the steep learning curve that comes with WordPress in general. The inclusion of the Slider Revolution plugin helps in this regard and is becoming my favorite feature. Once Slider Revolution works out the Firefox HTML5 video issue it will, in my mind, be about perfect. I’ve also used the Laborator support staff a lot. Their replies have been most excellent. While you can expect the delay mentioned up front, the quality of the reply is such that the delay is worth the wait. Bottom line – I like Kalium Theme and recommend it.

I customised Kalium into a very specific design I had in mind. The theme has tons of functionalities so it’s easy to shape it anyway you like. Even customising the functions of the theme is easy with the child theme functionality. For me a perfect fit. When customising a WordPress site off course you run into issues constantly (mainly lack of knowledge for me) but the customer support is quick and great and many issues are already discussed online so a solution is always easy to find.

As a WordPress user for many years, I spent a lot of time looking for a flexible theme that could meet my needs. I have used hundreds of themes before and I have no hesitation in saying that Kalium is by far and away the best that I have ever used. The base theme, design options and clean coding are all of the highest quality. The little things, like including a convenient zip file of the child theme, make Kalium that much better. Highly recommended. You can use this theme for almost any project.

When you choose a theme, for yourself or for your client, especially for the first time, you don’t need much and yet you want it all. You want it to work and you want the effects on the demo and whatever you envision to be achieved. Preferably without having to be a developer or to know too much backend. Laboratory grants you all of this. I first tried Aurum for an e-commerce client, and it all just made sense. The interface shows you what you want, the plugins are abundant, and the whole thing just works. Even if something doesn’t, guess what, the customer support is really there for you. No flashy promises, just being there for you when you need them. Even the response time is surprisingly quick, especially relatively to the amount of clients they have. Now Kalium is just as great, but allows you even more demo styles, which helps either to remake them into your own or to just give a perspective to reflect on your original idea. The demos are so nice in fact, that you can really test them before purchase and once you purchase, have the satisfaction of not buying a cat in a bag, but something both replicable and flexible. It’s just a pleasure to see people knowing what they do, not overselling, and really delivering. Then you can just do whatever you wish within the constraints of WordPress, yet with boundaries as broad as could be, thanks to the creators. Not to mention that they constantly improve and you can count on them not just dropping you half way. I really appreciate that, and hope it sets a baseline for everyone in the game. Thank you!

I’ve been with Kalium for 1 year. If like me, you are a design student and want to venture into wordpress, having this legit theme with their customer support is the best thing to happen in your career. I’ve learned so much building a shop with this theme (without any wordpress experience) and exploring it till the end, that right now I feel comfortable building any website in any theme, though, this is the only theme that really is stable and with a good user experience. Don’t hesitate, it’s really that good.

As a member on ThemeForest for almost 10 years I have bought almost 20 themes as you can see from my profile, and they are with varying degrees of quality. Kalium out of the box “plug & play” style, with all the available demos, should cover most people needs. For novice WP users, it should be cake walk to install, setup, and run this theme with the desired demo, and do basic customization. For intermediate to advanced users, that want additional customization. It will be straight forward as well, since everything is well declared, and commented. While for both set of users, you should know that the support is outstanding. Keep up the good work team “Laborator”, this is only the second recommendation that I have given on ThemeForest, and you truly deserved it!

I have been using several themes, and Laborator is my number one easiest to use and implement. Managed to get a complex content site up and running in a few days. Theme is clean, minimal, and reflects the design needs of 2018. Service is top notch, responses come within 24 hours despite the very difficult questions I ask. Shout out to Ylli for being friendly, and the theme developers who can recommend technical questions. Conversations are easily understood and clarifications are made to accurately reflect the understanding well. This is probably my first 5-star rating, as I find this theme awesome in design and the developers sincerely nice and helpful. I hope future improvements will include a wider breadth for variety of businesses especially for my own (crowdfunding). I haven’t encountered a bug so far, as the code quality seems to have figured out many of the loopholes in the system. Documentation is spot on and very easy to read. Great for website owners who have a memory of a goldfish like me, and those who are hot-headed and want to get sh*t done. Great job so far.

This is a fantastic theme! Beautiful and smooth, easy to customize in the options. The customer support is excellent… I’ve had a number of support requests, and they always answered within 24 hours, even providing some help with some simple css coding. I almost chose “design quality” as the reason for my rating. But I think it’s obvious from the demos that the design quality is superb. It takes a while to learn how to use the Visual Composer, but you get a really cool professional look with this theme.

Not only is Kalium a beautifully designed theme, the support is also responsive and first class. I’m not a professional web designer but I am able to use this theme with ease. In the fast paced world of ecommerce, it’s comforting to know that you have a solid platform from which to grow your business. While going through several themes, Kalium appeared to be one of the best ones that I came across because of the possibilities of its layout and presentation. It is one of the most appropriate platforms for exhibiting creative works. While wanting to showcase our work on the web, one hopes that the sebsite would enhance the quality of what we do, and Kalium has done exactly that. While customizing the theme, working with it, asking for support on quite a few occasions, it has been a smooth process. I am not at all familiar with the techinicalities of making a website, with zero knowledge of coding, whatsoever. And yet i could work on the website and have it presentable in a short time because of the user friendliness of the site, and the precise and promp support received. To be fair, if i was to select the ‘Main reason for your rating’, i would prefer to select all the reasons given in the drop-down list.

Beautifully designed theme, support good, being able to use custom fonts is a great feature. Only suggestions for improvement I’d make would be more customisation of banner images on portfolio page templates as a separate feature, as have little edit control over the dimensions etc like you would in visual composer. It would also be nice to have a set of subtle page load transition animations to choose from when going from page to page. Also, more control over or a change in container width would also be a useful addition, as I find the default a little narrow, and when setting to full width it literally sits on the edge of the browser window without any padding. But these are just little improvements, it’s a great theme would highly recommend and hopefully some of these bits will become available as features in future updates.

Not only is the design impeccable, the support is outstanding. I have gotten all the help necessary, and it rarely was necessary. It is intuitive and easy to use, with a very basic design that is versatile enough to handle all my demands. The code itself is even beautiful. I am looking at my first 6 months of support for the theme running out, and I will definitely update that and would advise everyone to get this theme, or at least follow Laborator to see their future themes.

I Like the design and various options in styles. It has a lot of features to expand my website with al sorts of content, in various prepared layouts. It adopted to panoramic images without problems, for example. The features where a bit overwhelming in the beginning. I am not that accustomed to wordpress. If you are in that position as well: my tip is to start simple and expand from there. I got the hang of it, I am able to do whatever I want and it is running like a charm! And if help is needed they respond quick and to the point.

I actually wanted to choose many options on why I gave 5 stars but could only get to design quality. I won’t be fair if I neglect customer support, Documentation quality, customization etc. I really want to thank you guys for giving me exactly what I want for my school where am working. I have being thinking about the exact theme for this school until Laborator theme solved my problem with kalium Education theme. Well… Code quality Feature availability Bugs (? haven’t found any) Design quality Documentation quality (eh, could use some work, something I need to point out to the Team, but generally good) Flexibility Customizability Customer support I’ve worked with many WP themes in my professional and personal work. No other comes close to Kalium. I’m not a developer, but I am very comfortable working with it and customizing it. I sincerely hope Laborator continues to support and extend this theme. There are a few things I’d recommend tweaking, but I know they’re already at work. I plan to use Kalium for several projects. I recommend it to anyone that needs a marketing site, portfolio site, (basic) e-commerce site, or blog.

First of all this theme is amazing! if you’re looking for a minimalistic, clean and sharp design, get it! If a theme is awarded the best theme for creatives in 2015 then the developers MUST surely be doing something right. Secondly, the guys in customer service go well above and beyond to what you expect a support to do. Recently they have contacted a third party provider on my behalf just to sort out an issue on my website. Which service team does that? Well the Kalium theme does… Keep up the great work!

Very few adjustments I would make (but one I’d like to see is more customization options on the blog page. It would be nice to have the ability to place the side menu there with a few options on width size.) Other than that, well done! And I LOVE the woo-commerce design you recently added too. Highly recommend to everyone else 🙂

I wish I could give it a 5 start rating for all Design Quality, Customer Support in addition to Customizability, alas I can not. This theme is saving me ages of coding. I am an Art Director with limited coding skills but I know enough to be frustrated with the limitations on other themes available. I am very happy with my purchase of “Kalium” because I can create my website without having to build it myself. Only problems I have found are because of my limited WordPress knowledge and there being limited documentation for making my website look like the demo. This means there is a bit of a learning curve for newbies but don’t let that scare you.
